We renewed our membership at the Lady Bird Johnson National Wildflower Center in Austin. Hopefully we can get there more often this year and it won't be so hot and dry during the summer. On Sunday we went there with Barb.

One of the more interesting specimens was this Texas madrone that had a twisting reddish trunk.
As we left the Wildflower Center we saw an owl keeping his eyes on things. |

Next stop was Whole Foods and then on to Meg and Paul's for a great fried chicken dinner and dessert from the Culinary Institute of America in San Antonio.
