Looking back

Just realized I did not post yesterday. Three weeks from today we will all be together on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. So here's to the beach...and family.

This is the birdhouse the Cs got us for Christmas.  The corrugated metal roof and distressed wood are similar to what we have on our outdoor shower.  The birdhouse hangs from the hackberry tree across from the shower. I have not seen any birds in it but I did see a purple martin flying around today.  Here's hoping they find the house...and any flying insects. Maybe I should post a "Free Rent" sign.

I know, I missed posting yesterday. How can I make it up to you?  How about two pictures from the OBX? Four weeks from today...

Nana's Day, too

I know you prefer seeing pictures of people instead of plants. Me too. So here is a picture of YM and Griffin on Mother's Day at the ranch.

All the moms

Mother's Day started with a Skype from Melissa and Jackson. Wish we could all be together today.  Meg, Paul and Griffin arrived later with raspberry scones Meg had made. These went well with the cinnamon knots and mimosas we contributed. Paul was his masterful self making pork belly, poached eggs, oven fried potatoes, Hollandaise sauce and pan toasted croutons. Here's to the moms...

Tom time

I was working in the back yard and saw this turkey heading towards our front porch. So I went in the house and found him pecking at the glass on our front door. It is an amazing sound when a turkey fans its tail feathers...and an equally amazing sound I made to shoo him away from the house.
