On Thursday we picked up G after naptime at pre-school and headed for the Wildflower Center.
"You've been there before with Nanny," said PopPop.
"What did you like best?" asked Nana.
Silence.
"Well, it's been six months since Shauna took him."
More silence. Then ...
"The big bad wolf."
Sure enough, when we got there ...
 |
Who's afraid of the big bad wolf?
Not Griffin apparently |
Okay, it was a coyote, but still ...
We also had an awesome snack: chocolate-covered strawberries (which resulted in a chocolate-covered G) ...
And saw lots of cool stuff ...
 |
| An iron butterfly |
 |
| A bobcat |
 |
| Dinosaur tracks |
 |
| A working water pump |
But the way coolest was ...
 |
The water fountain ...
"Don't let him get too close Pop Pop" | |
Then we drove over to G's new house ...
 |
| Well, yard anyway ... |
And Friday morning we said goodbye ...
so Meghan could take G to preschool to celebrate Valentine's Day a little early ...
Leaving Nana Pop Pop to their own celebration at the Odd Duck (guess that officially ends the Xmas season) ...
 |
| Oh yes, we certainly did get "Beer for the kitchen" |
Sunchoke tater tots with golden beets, deviled eggs, grilled mustard greens, scallions and dill oil ...
 |
| Poetry on a plate |
A chicken/bacon kolache and tile fish tacos (neither of which got photographed because we attacked them before the camera could focus), followed by an eclair chaser ...
 |
| Smaller than it looks here unfortunately ... |
Can't wait for Valentine's Day (part two) in STL ... but for now, Happy Birthday Meliss!!
