Walking 101

Griffin started walking the week before his first birthday. By party time he really seemed to have things under control.

"So this is how I do it...."     

"First I make sure the coast is clear."

"Then I turn..."

"and push off with my feet."

"Next I move it into second gear ..."

B'day Part 2

It was time to open presents. We got Griffin a tunnel to crawl through ... and books of course. Meghan and Jackson helped with the big reveal.

Griffin's First Birthday

Griffin celebrated his first birthday on November 14th. The Ws flew in for the festivities. Since there are so many pictures to share I'll do this over several days.

The flight from St. Louis was a bit rough for the last 20 minutes or so. Jackson is an experienced traveler and had never cried before today. Those air pressure changes can be rough on little ears. Drinks were in order ... but for Griffin?

Meghan was in charge of making the birthday cake (two-layered vanilla-vanilla of course) and Jackson was a very observant helper. Then it was off to Matt's El Rancho for dinner.

The cake was on display in the hallway, along with prints of the birthday boy's first year, as guests arrived.

Mom asked G if he was ready to party? The reaction tells it all...

Somehow Griffin changed clothes before eating his cake. He even donned a bib made by Nana Liz.

Griffin gives a high five to his dad on a job well done.

Meghan and Paul are two proud parents.

And Griff can't believe they let him have so much sugar!
