Valentine memoir written 2/14/2012

For some reason I can remember exactly what I ate 26 years ago today (Belgian waffles from Stuckey's with vanilla Haagen Dazs) ... three-year-old Meg having a sleepover at Grandma and Papa's ... taking a long lazy nap on a Friday afternoon ... watching the snow fall ... driving down a deserted Richmond Road at 8:00 at night, the car nearly slewing into a ditch just before the light at Centerville ... trying to find an open door at the hospital as fat white flakes fell through the lights in the empty parking lot ... watching your Dad (trying to) read The Bradley Method ... a wonderful labor nurse named Virginia pitching scrubs across the room and saying "Get 'em on now!" ten minutes after the doctor said "I'm going to get some sleep, this is going to take a while"  ...  and welcoming Melissa Reid into the world at 11:29 pm.
