Don despondant

Today we planned to fire up the burn pile. And it was a pretty good plan, as far as it went. The ground was wet, rain was in the forecast for noon, there wasn't much wind.  Check that ... we thought there wasn't much wind ...  until we lit the fire and discovered otherwise.

At which point I said there was a little too much wind.
"We'll just keep it small," was YD's comeback.
"Yeah, but how long will it take to burn everything if we keep it small?" I countered.
So this is what dejection looks like ... oh well, better luck next time.

YM was right.  The small fire we had blew like a dragon's tongue and could easily have gotten out of control. Looking for a still day to burn.  Do we have those in Texas?
